Huge game by Kim boosts OHA U18 Midget AAA over CIHA White Midget AAA, 6-2

The OHA U18 Midget AAA OHA U17’s Josh Kim had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team’s 6-2 win over the CIHA White Midget AAA White.

Kim’s tallies came on the power play at 9:35 into the first period to make the score 2-0 OHA U18 Midget AAA and 6:25 into the third to make the score 4-2 OHA U18 Midget AAA.

OHA U18 Midget AAA’s penalty kill excelled, as the OHA U17 gave up one goal despite allowing eight power plays.

OHA U18 Midget AAA found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. The OHA U17 average 2.0 goals per game. OHA U18 Midget AAA could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 30 minutes in penalties during the game.

OHA U18 Midget AAA additionally got points from Justin Poirier, who also had one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. OHA U18 Midget AAA also had goals scored by Egidio Porreca, Dylan Stacey, and Tyson Iserhoff, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for OHA U18 Midget AAA were Brad Jenion, Thomas Chaulk, and Craig Garrigan, who contributed one each and Heath Ford and Zach Letto, who each chipped in two.

CIHA White Midget AAA was led by Semen Der-Arguchintsev, who registered one goal and one assist. Der-Arguchintsev scored 6:06 into the second period to make the score 3-2 OHA U18 Midget AAA. Pavel Gogolev assisted on the tally. CIHA White Midget AAA also got a goal from Kyle Preston as well.

Danick Francoeur recorded 19 saves for the OHA U17. OHA U18 Midget AAA registered one goal on four power play opportunities. Olivier Pimpare-Charbonneau took the loss and made 17 saves before being replaced by Jacob Lavergne who made two saves. The White incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
