Pembroke Midget AAA uses early goal to top OHA U17 Midget AAA, 4-2

Andre Simard scored the go-ahead goal in the first period, and the Pembroke Midget AAA Lumber Kings held off the challenges of the OHA U17 Midget AAA OHA U16 in a tough 4-2 win.

Pembroke Midget AAA took over the lead for good with a goal by Simard at 2:53 in the first period. The Lumber Kings had taken the advantage when OHA U17 Midget AAA’s Andre Guldbrandsen got sent off for interference. Jackson Norlock assisted on the tally.

Pembroke Midget AAA was paced by Brad Richardson, who finished with one goal. Richardson scored on the power play 9:16 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Pembroke Midget AAA. The Lumber Kings earned a power play opportunity when Sebastien Pugin was put in the box for high sticking. Kiefer Levasseur provided the assist.

Pembroke Midget AAA also got points from Jordan Radford, who also registered one goal and one assist and Simard, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Payton Jardine also scored for Pembroke Midget AAA. Other players who recorded assists for Pembroke Midget AAA were Lawson Leclaire, Noah Maika, and Tyler Dyke, who each chipped in one.

The OHA U16 were helped by Tim Kobler, who grabbed one goal. Kobler scored 9:13 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Pembroke Midget AAA. Pugin assisted on the tally. OHA U17 Midget AAA also got a goal from Tod Philibert as well. In addition, OHA U17 Midget AAA received assists from Nikita Lopatin, who had two.

Darian McTavish rejected 20 shots on goal for Pembroke Midget AAA. The Lumber Kings incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Dillon Lamarche made 18 saves for OHA U17 Midget AAA on 22 shots. The OHA U16 incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
