Cornwall Midget AAA squeaks by CIHA White Midget AAA, 4-2

The Cornwall Midget AAA Colts and the CIHA White Midget AAA White were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Cornwall Midget AAA made the most of its opportunities and won, 4-2.

Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Hunter Duchesne‘s goal in the second period proved to be the difference maker.

Duchesne had two goals to lead the Colts to victory.

Cornwall Midget AAA put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow CIHA White Midget AAA to score on any of its five power plays.

Others who scored for Cornwall Midget AAA included Mathieu Sabourin and Ethan Mulhearn, who each put in one. More assists for Cornwall Midget AAA came via Noah Konink and Benjamin Dirven, who contributed one each and Alec Seguin and Joseph Samson, who each chipped in two.

The White excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances.

CIHA White Midget AAA was led by Pavel Gogolev, who registered one goal and one assist. Gogolev scored 9:14 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Marcus Odermatt also scored for CIHA White Midget AAA. Other players who recorded assists for CIHA White Midget AAA were Sungwon Lee, who had one.

Grant Craig made 13 saves for the Colts on 15 shots. Cornwall Midget AAA incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Jacob Lavergne recorded 16 saves for the White. CIHA White Midget AAA incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
