McGregor’s big game bests Kemptville Midget AAA in 5-2 Ottawa Midget AAA win

The Ottawa Midget AAA Senators’ Griffin McGregor had a big offensive game, scoring one goal and contributing two assists in his team’s 5-2 win over the Kemptville Midget AAA 73s.

McGregor beat Jacob Dioszeghy with a shot 1:29 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Ottawa Midget AAA. Tyler Newell picked up the assist. McGregor dished an assist on Jean-Sylvain Boyer‘s goal that made the score 1-0 Ottawa Midget AAA at 8:23 into the first period. He added another helper on Tyler Villeneuve‘s goal that made the score 2-0 Ottawa Midget AAA at 9:07 into the first period.

Ottawa Midget AAA excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. The Senators kept Kemptville Midget AAA’s goalie busy throughout the game, and Dioszeghy made 32 saves on 37 shots. Ottawa Midget AAA found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. The Senators have scored at the pace of 2.5 goals per game during the current campaign.

Ottawa Midget AAA additionally got points from Villeneuve, who also racked up one goal and one assist. In addition, Ottawa Midget AAA received assists from Sam Wilson and Cameron Scrivens, who each chipped in one.
