Brockville Midget AAA falls to Nepean Midget AAA in overtime, 2-1 (OT)

The Nepean Midget AAA Raiders’ Connor Lacey scored 4:28 into overtime to beat the Brockville Midget AAA Braves, 2-1 (OT).

Lacey had a great game for Nepean Midget AAA, netting two goals.

The Raiders’ Marshall Frappier was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 27 saves and let only one puck past him. Frappier managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 4.7 prior to the game.

In addition, Nepean Midget AAA received assists from Lukash Matthews, Nicholas Domitrovic, Ethan Rendell-Watson, and Kyle Kuehni, who each chipped in one.

Brockville Midget AAA stifled Nepean Midget AAA’s power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Braves found themselves short handed often, totaling 14 penalty minutes and allowing seven power plays.

Brockville Midget AAA was led by Jacob Shankar, who scored the team’s only goal. Shankar scored on the power play 3:20 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Brockville Midget AAA. The Braves had gotten the advantage when the Raiders’ Jeremy Boucher was sent off for head contact. Cameron Hebert picked up the assist.

Nepean Midget AAA incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors. The Raiders ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Shawn Timlin was ejected from the game. Brockville Midget AAA’s Kyle Herbison stopped 27 shots out of the 29 that he faced. The Braves registered one goal on three power play opportunities.
