Jankowski's big night helped the Hawks crush the Grads 6-3

David Jankowski had a big night with 4 points (1 goal, 3 assists) as the Hawkesbury Hawks crushed the Navan Grads 6-3 in a home game at Robert Hartley Sports Complex in Hawkesbury. Besides, the Hawkesbury Hawks' offense had a big night, peppering Navan with 60 shots throughout the game. The Hawkesbury Hawks took the lead early in the second on a goal from David Jankowski.

Simon Besner contributed with 2 goals and Chris Smith delivered for his team with 2 assists. Joe Mcgrath ‘a’did his part, adding 2 assists.

In the first period, Breton ‘a’opened the scoring for the Grads with a goal at 2:58 with helpers from his linemates, Trudel and Smith. Belec answered for the Hawks with a goal at 7:12 with a helper from defenseman Guillemette. Besner netted a goal at 14:26 with assists from his teammates Jankowski and Smith. Roy quickly followed with a goal at 14:52 with helpers from Mcgrath ‘a’ and Denis. Boivin quickly followed with a goal at 15:22 with assists from his linemates, Beaudin-Tougas and Craig.

During the second period, Jankowski netted what turned out to be the game winning goal at 2:44 with helpers from his linemates, Gasuik and O’neal. Anderson quickly followed with a goal at 3:29 with assists from Jankowski and Nantais.

In the third, Francis answered for Navan with a goal at 6:34 with a helper from Mcgrath ‘a’. Besner answered for Hawkesbury with a goal at 19:28 with assists from Jankowski and Smith.

The Hawks’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Brooks’ big night as he stopped 35 of the 38 shots he faced. Brooks’ counterpart, Giacobbo, also had a big night, managing to stop 54 of 59, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Hawkesbury Hawks’ record to (33-18-0-2).
