The Hawks shutout the Colts 9-0

Kieran Craig had a big night with 4 points (1 goal, 3 assists) as the Hawkesbury Hawks crushed the Cornwall Colts 9-0 in a home game at Robert Hartley Sports Complex in Hawkesbury. Moreover, Peter Brooks posted a shutout, stopping all 28 of Cornwall shots throughout the game. The Hawkesbury Hawks took the lead before the halfway point in the first on a goal from Kari Belec and never looked back.

Kari Belec had no trouble finding the scoresheet, adding 2 goals and Hunter Duchesne contributed with 3 points (2 goals, 1 assist).

In the first period, Belec opened the scoring for the Hawks with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 7:27 with helpers from his linemates, Marleau and Taillon. Craig deposited a goal at 16:26 with assists from his teammates Gasuik and Elia.

In the second, Belec put in a goal at 1:29 with helpers from his linemates, Marleau and Taillon. Fournier quickly followed with a goal at 2:04 with an assist from defenseman Nantais. Beaudin-Tougas quickly followed with a goal at 3:12 with helpers from his linemates, Smith and Jankowski. Gasuik scored a goal at 5:44 with assists from his linemates, Craig and Duchesne. Smith put in a goal at 10:51 with helpers from Beaudin-Tougas and Nantais.

In the third, Duchesne deposited a goal at 4:10 with assists from his linemates, Cote and Craig. Duchesne quickly followed with a goal at 6:00 with helpers from his linemates, Craig and Smith.

The Hawks’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Brooks’ shutout, as he stopped all 28 of the shots he faced. Brooks’ counterpart, Lascelle, also had a big night, managing to stop 20 of 26, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Hawkesbury Hawks’ record to (4-1-2-0).
