The Hawks defeat the Raiders 5-3

The Hawkesbury Hawks' offense had a big night, peppering the Nepean Raiders with 33 shots throughout the game. The Hawkesbury Hawks took the lead late in the third on a goal from Chris Smith.

Chris Smith delivered for his team with 3 points (2 goals, 1 assist) and Joel Frazee contributed with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist). Kari Belec chipped in with 2 goals.

In the first, Gauthier opened the scoring for Nepean with a goal at 19:04. Smith quickly followed with a goal at 19:24 with helpers from Tarbell and Nantais.

During the second period, Belec answered for the Raiders with a goal at 2:14 with a helper from Horvath. Frazee answered for the Hawks with a goal at 13:22 with assists from his linemates, Jankowski and Boivin. Craig put in a goal at 17:43 with assists from his linemates, Anderson and Boivin.

In the third, Belec answered for the Raiders with a goal at 7:53 with helpers from teammates Thomas and Lecours. Smith answered for Hawkesbury with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 15:11 with helpers from his linemates, Jankowski and Frazee. Boivin netted a goal at 19:44 with assists from his linemates, Jankowski and Smith.

The Hawks’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Petizian’s big night as he stopped 32 of the 35 shots he faced. Petizian’s counterpart, Souliere, also had a big night, managing to stop 28 of 32, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Hawkesbury Hawks’ record to (14-6-0-0).
