The Hawks defeat the Nationals 5-3

Peter Brooks came up big, stopping 40 of 43 shots throughout the game. The Hawkesbury Hawks took the lead before the halfway point in the second on a goal from Mike Nantais.

Jeremy Cote contributed with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist) and Mike Nantais did his part, adding 3 points (1 goal, 2 assists).

During the first period, Robert opened the scoring for Rockland with a goal at 0:54 with helpers from his linemates, Leblanc and Blanchette. Lacroix answered for the Hawks with a goal at 6:24 with helpers from his teammates Nantais and Brazeau. Boivin deposited a goal at 17:12 with assists from Guillemette and Taillon. Cote quickly followed with a goal at 19:07 with helpers from his linemates, Belec and Brooks.

During the second, Nantais netted what turned out to be the game winning goal at 12:41 with assists from Cote and O’neal. Craig quickly followed with a goal at 14:12 with helpers from O’neal and Nantais.

In the third, Beatty answered for Rockland with a goal at 2:21 with assists from Gosselin and Rennalls ‘a’. Maurovic scored a goal at 5:24 with a helper from Elder.

Hawkesbury’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Brooks’ big night as he stopped 40 of the 43 shots he faced. Brooks’ counterpart, Roy, also had a big night, managing to stop 34 of 39, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Hawkesbury Hawks’ record to (36-22-0-3).
