The Hawks defeat the Nationals 3-1

Matthew Petizian came up big, stopping 36 of 37 shots throughout the game. The Hawkesbury Hawks took the lead before the halfway point in the third on a goal from Nicolas Elia.

Alec Taillon delivered for his team with 3 points (1 goal, 2 assists).

In the first, Callahan opened the scoring for Hawkesbury with a goal at 14:38 with a helper from Taillon.

In the second, Scrivens answered for the Nationals with a goal at 3:14 with an assist from his linemate Shields ‘c’.

During the third period, Elia answered for the Hawks with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 10:41 with helpers from Gasuik and Taillon. Taillon deposited a goal at 14:35 with an assist from his teammate Lavallee.

Hawkesbury’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Petizian’s big night as he stopped 36 of the 37 shots he faced. Petizian’s counterpart, Giacobbo, also had a big night, managing to stop 27 of 30, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Hawkesbury Hawks’ record to (6-1-0-0).
