The Hawks defeat the Lumber Kings 6-4

The Hawkesbury Hawks' offense had a big night, peppering the Pembroke Lumber Kings with 44 shots throughout the game. The Hawkesbury Hawks took the lead before the halfway point in the third on a goal from Fletcher Anderson.

Fletcher Anderson chipped in with 2 goals and Zachary Fournier contributed with 2 assists. Matthew Barnaby delivered for his team with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist) and Connor Warnholtz did his part, adding 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist).

In the first period, Rowland opened the scoring for the Lumber Kings with a goal at 6:52 with helpers from Cross and Warnholtz. Anderson answered for the Hawks with a goal at 14:43 with helpers from his linemates, Jankowski and Fournier. O’neal netted a goal at 19:03 with assists from his linemates, Gasuik and Taillon.

During the second period, Barnaby answered for Pembroke with a goal at 4:03 with a helper from Rhodes. Jankowski answered for Hawkesbury with a goal at 9:28 with an assist from his teammate Beaudin-Tougas.

In the third, Falivena answered for the Lumber Kings with a goal at 3:40 with helpers from his linemates, Buckley and Weber. Jankowski quickly followed with a goal at 4:30 with assists from his linemates, Fournier and Smith. Anderson quickly followed with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 6:12 with helpers from Guillemette and Beaudin-Tougas. Jankowski put in a goal at 11:34 with an assist from fellow Hawks forward Smith. Warnholtz answered for Pembroke with a goal at 14:45 with a helper from his linemate Barnaby.

Hawkesbury’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Petizian’s big night as he stopped 34 of the 38 shots he faced. Petizian’s counterpart, Smith, also had a big night, managing to stop 38 of 44, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Hawkesbury Hawks’ record to (19-9-0-1).
