The Hawks defeat the Lumber Kings 5-3

Matthew Petizian came up big, stopping 27 of 30 shots throughout the game. The Hawkesbury Hawks took the lead before the halfway point in the third on a goal from Jaxon Camp.

Fletcher Anderson chipped in with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist) and Zachary Fournier did his part, adding 2 assists. Taylor Egan contributed with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist) and Connor Warnholtz delivered for his team with 2 assists.

During the first period, Egan opened the scoring for Pembroke with a goal at 16:17 with helpers from his teammates Warnholtz and Arseneau. Anderson answered for Hawkesbury with a goal at 19:30 with helpers from Camp and Lavallee.

In the second, Browne answered for the Lumber Kings with a goal at 1:40 with assists from White and Egan. Camp answered for the Hawks with a goal at 7:36 with helpers from Callahan and Fournier. Camp put in a goal at 19:17 with assists from Callahan and Fournier.

In the third period, Camp deposited what turned out to be the game winning goal at 7:28 with helpers from Anderson and Elia. Weber answered for the Lumber Kings with a goal at 11:44 with assists from Warnholtz and Douglas. Marleau answered for Hawkesbury with a goal at 19:01.

The Hawks’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Petizian’s big night as he stopped 27 of the 30 shots he faced. Petizian’s counterpart, Smith, also had a big night, managing to stop 43 of 47, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Hawkesbury Hawks’ record to (8-2-0-0).
