The Hawks defeat the Colts 5-4

The Hawkesbury Hawks' offense had a big night, peppering the Cornwall Colts with 44 shots throughout the game. The Hawkesbury Hawks took the lead late in the third on a goal from Hunter Duchesne.

Nicolas Elia did his part, adding 2 goals and Michael Marleau delivered for his team with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist). Benjamin Dirven chipped in with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist) and Jack Collins contributed with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist).

In the first period, Collins opened the scoring for the Colts with a goal at 5:02 with helpers from his teammates Dirven and Huntley. Barnes put in a goal at 18:15 with a helper from Quesnel.

During the second, Elia finally put the Hawks on the board with a goal at 12:17 with assists from Lavallee and Crete. Bishop quickly followed with a goal at 13:32 with a helper from Poissant. Marleau answered for Hawkesbury with a goal at 17:38.

During the third, Elia netted a goal at 0:35 with an assist from Lavallee. Gasuik deposited a goal at 6:49 with a helper from his linemate Taillon. Dirven answered for Cornwall with a goal at 9:06 with assists from Collins and Huntley. Duchesne answered for Hawkesbury with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 15:22 with a helper from fellow Hawks forward Marleau.

The Hawks’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Stofcheck as he stopped 23 of the 27 shots he faced. Stofcheck’s counterpart, Carr, also had a big night, managing to stop 39 of 44, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Hawkesbury Hawks’ record to (9-2-0-0).
