The Hawks defeat the Colts 4-3

Matthew Petizian came up big, stopping 35 of 38 shots throughout the game. The Hawkesbury Hawks took the lead before the halfway point in the third on a goal from Alec Beaudin-Tougas.

Alec Taillon had no trouble finding the scoresheet, adding 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist) and Tyler Boivin contributed with 2 assists. Alex Wilkins delivered for his team with 2 assists.

In the first period, Maccormick opened the scoring for Cornwall with a goal at 4:13 with helpers from Mulhearn and Wilkins. Hebert quickly followed with a goal at 4:57 with helpers from teammates Wilkins and Poirier. Smith finally put Hawkesbury on the board with a goal at 15:38 with assists from Stevens and Anderson.

During the second period, Williams answered for Cornwall with a goal at 2:45 with assists from Mcrae and Orr. Taillon quickly followed with a goal at 3:37 with helpers from Boivin and Fortin.

In the third, Craig netted a goal at 3:18 with a helper from Marleau. Beaudin-Tougas put in what turned out to be the game winning goal at 13:23 with assists from his linemates, Taillon and Boivin.

Hawkesbury’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Petizian’s big night as he stopped 35 of the 38 shots he faced. Petizian’s counterpart, Lascelle, also had a big night, managing to stop 44 of 48, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Hawkesbury Hawks’ record to (1-0-0-0).
