Justin Sproule Joins The Flock As Head Scout

With the retirement of Mitch Geerts, the Hawks are happy to announce the hiring of Justin Sproule as our new head scout.

General Manager and Head Coach Rick Dorval had plenty of praise for Sproule’s hiring.

“Justin has a wealth of experience, not only in the CCHL, but all around the junior ranks and the NHL Draft. His player knowledge and contacts, as well as his knowledge of the game, will be a huge asset to the Hawks moving forward.”

Sproule has been a scout for the HockeyProspect.com website for the past 5 years., with his primary focus being the HEO U18 league for the OHL Draft. He has also been a scout for the NHL Draft, preparing reports and rankings, as well as covering all draft eligible player from Major Junior to Tier 2.

Dorval added, “An added plus for players that come to the Hawks is the fact Justin has been recruiting for U Sports (CIS) for the last 8 years. We focus our efforts to get our players to the NCAA, but have a secondary option for them is always a plus, and Justin can provide them that.”

Sproule will be at the CCHL Camp starting this Friday, scouting prospects on behalf of the Hawks.
