COVID UPDATE 2020-2021 Hawks Open Camp

COVID UPDATE Hawks Open Camp -

This is the latest update from our organization pertaining to the ongoing battle against COVID-19.

The Hawkesbury Hawks would like to send you and your family all the best and health during these tough times. I can imagine that for many hockey isn’t on top of their priority list these days. We are hopeful that these tough times pass sooner than later, so that we can all return to our day to day lives. For this reason, we have made the decision to plan into the future with optimism.

In anticipation that better times are ahead the Hawkesbury Hawks would like to formally invite you to attend our annual open camp August 21st to 23rd. This event will play a crucial part in our roster composition for this upcoming season. The Hawks are the host of the 2021 Fred Page Cup (Eastern Canadian Championship) and our guaranteed to play next season until May 7th, 2021 and are several wins away from a birth to the National Championship. Something no other team in the CCHL can guarantee you.

The camp will be held at the Robert Hartley Complexe located in Hawkesbury, Ont. This camp is geared towards players with birth years 2000-2004. Players with birth year 2005 are by invite only. Six years ago, Daniel Brickley attended camp as a player that no one knew very well and managed to win himself a spot on our team. Today, we are proud to add him to a long list of Hawkesbury Hawks alumni and Minnesota Mankato (NCAA D1) while continuing his playing career for the L.A Kings of the NHL. This all to say, the opportunity is yours to take!

For the 2020-21 season the Hawks are looking to fill 5-6 forward positions, 3-4 defense positions and 1 goalie position. We anticipate making most of our roster decisions, especially on out of town players that weekend. Every player will play 3 games (4.5 hours of ice) and if selected for the Sunday all-star game an additional 1.5 hour game. The cost of this year’s camp is $250.

Please note that due to the COVID-19 outbreak we have seen circumstances change with very little notice, and everyone must be prepared to react to theses changes. None of us can predict where we will be in the next two, to three weeks or even a month from now. The camp will only be hosted, subject to Hockey Canada sanctions on their Covid 19 policy. If the camp is cancelled or postponed, we will provide you the choice of a full refund of the registration cost of this event or given a credit towards future Hawks camps or programs.
