The Hawks defeat the 73's 4-2

The Hawkesbury Hawks' offense had a big night, peppering the Kemptville 73's with 37 shots throughout the game. The Hawkesbury Hawks took the lead late in the first on a goal from Alec Beaudin-Tougas and never looked back.

Matt Gasuik contributed with 2 goals and Michael Marleau did his part, adding 3 assists. Eric Faith delivered for his team with 2 assists.

In the first period, Gasuik opened the scoring for the Hawks with a goal at 9:06 with helpers from teammates Marleau and Kuhl. Smith netted a goal at 14:33 with helpers from his linemates, Fournier and Jankowski. Beaudin-Tougas quickly followed with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 16:05 with an assist from Marleau.

During the second period, Gasuik deposited a goal at 9:08 with helpers from Von Schoenberg and Marleau. Samanski finally put the 73’s on the board with a goal at 12:10 with assists from Faith and Hunter . Fry netted a goal at 14:56 with helpers from Faith and Kiefer.

The Hawks’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Petizian as he stopped 18 of the 20 shots he faced. Petizian’s counterpart, Brooks, also had a big night, managing to stop 33 of 37, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Hawkesbury Hawks’ record to (11-5-0-0).
