Johnathan Kovacevic, who was a standout defenseman for the Hawkesbury Hawks, was selected in the 3rd round of the 2017 NHL Draft by the Winnipeg Jets.
After being acquired by the Hawks from the Ottawa Jr. Senators, Kovacevic scored 26 points in 30 games with Hawkesbury during the 2015-2016 season. In 2016-2017, Johnny scored 30 points in 26 games with Merrimack College, convincing NHL scouts that he is a model of consistency.
