The CJHL cares about education. We back it up by providing unbiased information to allow you to make sure you are on the right academic path and have all of the tools to make sure you are a success in the classroom as well as on the ice.
Check out our information booklet on our website. Whether it is Canada or the USA, university needs to be part of your future. It starts with your Grade 9 year as we are reaching out to those in their first year of high school as well as those already in high school to make sure you know all there is to know about course selection, requirements and eligibility. If attending college and succeeding is a priority, as we see it, then you need all of the information we have for you. You can partner your hockey with education here in the CJHL. You can graduate on time from high school. You can take the proper courses to ensure acceptance to university. You can develop strong study habits in a pre-university environment, all while continuing your hockey career in the CJHL. Every year more and more Junior A players are selected by NHL teams. You don't have to sacrifice your education to do it. CJHL players miss ZERO days of school due to hockey travel! Our close competiton sees players miss only a handful of classes all season. By preparing you for college, you will be more likely to have success in the classroom. Other levels have higher draft numbers, but a university graduation rate below 25%. A well rounded athlete can get a degree and still become a professional player. Between 20 and 25 percent of NHL players arrive there via universities and colleges with a sound academic career behind them. Let the CJHL become your first step towards excellence on the ice, and in the classroom!
