Belec's big night helped the Hawks crush the Junior Senators 4-1

Kari Belec had a big night with 4 points (0 goals, 4 assists) as the Hawkesbury Hawks crushed the Ottawa Junior Senators 4-1 in a home game at Jim Durrell Sports Complex – Arena 1 in Hawkesbury. Also, Matthew Petizian came up big, stopping 29 of 30 shots throughout the game. The Hawkesbury Hawks took the lead before the halfway point in the second on a goal from Jeremy Cote.

Jeremy Cote chipped in with 2 goals and Alec Beaudin-Tougas did his part, adding 3 points (2 goals, 1 assist).

In the first period, Cote opened the scoring for the Hawks with a goal at 19:17 with helpers from his teammates Nantais and Belec.

In the second, Cote put in what turned out to be the game winning goal at 10:42 with assists from his linemates, Beaudin-Tougas and Belec. Beaudin-Tougas deposited a goal at 15:36 with helpers from Belec and Nantais.

During the third period, Lalonde finally put the Junior Senators on the board with a goal at 7:14 with assists from Guy and Thomas. Beaudin-Tougas answered for Hawkesbury with a goal at 19:21 with helpers from his linemates, Jankowski and Belec.

The Hawks’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Petizian’s big night as he stopped 29 of the 30 shots he faced. On the other hand, Petizian’s counterpart, Hicks, and Ottawa’s defense has had better outings stopping only 24 of 27 shots.

This win brings the Hawkesbury Hawks’ record to (35-22-0-3).
